Description

Cal 1: This is a two roll calender with pneumatic cylinder loading and manual bottom roll skewing. The calender is designed for a maximum of 50 PLI loading without skewing. The skewing changes the bottom roll from a straight nip to the top roll to a diagonal that allows an approximate additional 15 PLI. The amount of skewing allowed is +/-0.5”. This is accomplished with screw jacks on tending side and drive side of the bottom roll mounting. The rolls for this calender are existing/reused. The nominal roll diameters for new rolls would be 16.0” diameter bottom roll and 12.0” diameter top roll. The bottom roll is motor driven while the top roll is driven through the pressure in the nip. Cal 2: This is also a two roll calender with pneumatic cylinder loading. It is designed for a maximum of 50 PLI loading. This does not have the skewing capabilities that are part of the 1st calender design. The rolls for this calender are also existing/reused. As with the 1st calender, the nominal roll diameters for new rolls would be 16.0” diameter bottom roll and 12.0” top roll. The bottom roll is motor driven while the top roll is driven through the pressure in the nip.
